Dan Sullivan
Dan Sullivan is a Republican U.S. senator from Alaska who entered the Senate in January 2015. His official biography records prior service as Alaska attorney general and commissioner of the state Department of Natural Resources, earlier work in the George W. Bush administration, and a 30-year U.S. Marine Corps career that ended with his retirement as a colonel in 2024.
Sullivan serves on the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation; Armed Services; Environment and Public Works; and Veterans’ Affairs committees. In the 119th Congress he chairs Armed Services’ Readiness and Management Support Subcommittee and Commerce’s Coast Guard, Maritime, and Fisheries Subcommittee, and he serves as a deputy whip for the Senate Republican Conference.
