Martin Heinrich is a Democratic senator from New Mexico who has served in the Senate since 2013 after serving two terms in the U.S. House, according to Congress.gov.

The Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources lists Heinrich as its ranking member, serving opposite Chairman Mike Lee.

In June 2026 the committee approved S. 1547, the America the Beautiful Act, by voice vote after adopting a bipartisan substitute amendment offered by Lee and Heinrich. The committee described the bill as reauthorizing the National Parks and Public Land Legacy Restoration Fund with revised accountability and project provisions.
