The U.S. House Historian records that Begich was born in Anchorage on October 21, 1977; graduated from The Master’s Academy in Oviedo, Florida, in 1995; earned a B.B.A. from Baylor University in 1999 and an M.B.A. from Indiana University in 2002; and worked as a business owner, entrepreneur and investor before election to Congress.
The House Historian also records that Begich unsuccessfully sought Alaska’s House seat in the 2022 special and regular elections before winning election to the 119th Congress. His official House biography adds that he worked at Ford Motor Company, returned to Alaska in 2004 and later built and advised businesses.
